Even G2 can display notifications from your phone. You can view new messages on the glasses and mark notifications as read.
Turn on Notifications
- Follow your phone's system prompts to allow the Even Realities App to access notifications.
- Make sure system notifications are enabled for each third-party app you want to sync. Always allow notification previews and pop-up notifications for those apps.
- In the Even Realities App, go to Settings > Notifications and turn on the main Notifications switch.
- Under Apps, turn on each app whose notifications you want to receive on the glasses.
Receive new notifications
When Notifications is enabled, Auto Display is turned on by default. When your phone receives a new notification, it automatically appears in the foreground on the glasses.
If a feature such as Navigate or Teleprompt is running, it will continue running in the background. After the notification closes, the glasses return to the previous feature.
When a notification appears:
- Single-tap the TouchPad: Marks the notification as read and closes it.
- Double-tap the TouchPad: Closes the notification without marking it as read.
When Auto Display is turned off, new notifications do not appear automatically, but they are still included in the unread count. You can view them later from Menu on the glasses.
View unread notifications
The bell icon on Dashboard shows the current number of unread notifications.
To view unread notifications:
- Open Menu.
- Swipe to Notifications.
- Single-tap the TouchPad to open the notification list.
- Swipe on the TouchPad to browse notifications.
- Single-tap the TouchPad to mark the current notification as read and remove it from the notification list on the glasses.
Adjust how notifications appear
On the Notifications settings page in the App, you can adjust the following options:
- Auto Display: Controls whether new notifications automatically appear on the glasses. When turned off, new notifications are included only in the unread count.
- Don't disturb other features: When enabled, notifications do not appear while full-screen features such as Navigate or Teleprompt are running. They are still included in the unread count.
- Display Time: Controls how long an automatically displayed notification remains on the glasses.
- Apps: Controls whether notifications from individual apps appear on the glasses.
The Apps list includes only apps that have previously sent a notification. The Even Realities App does not scan or read every app installed on your phone.
If an app does not appear in the list, make sure it has permission to send notifications in your phone's system settings, then have the app send a notification.
Privacy and display limitations
- Notifications are transferred directly from your phone to the glasses over Bluetooth. They are not transmitted over the internet or uploaded to any Even cloud service or server.
- If notifications for an app are disabled in your phone's system settings, the glasses cannot receive notifications from that app.
