Create or import a script
- Open Teleprompt in the Even Realities App.
- Tap New to create a script, or tap Import to import an existing file.
- Edit the script and save it. After your glasses are updated to firmware version 2.2.9 or later, the App highlights characters that the glasses do not support. Edit the highlighted characters as prompted.
When creating a script, you can enter text directly or paste existing content. Teleprompt supports the following file formats:
- TXT
- DOCX
- PDF
Each file can be up to 255 KB. For PDF files, use a simple text-based layout. Complex layouts may affect how the content is recognized and arranged.
Start Teleprompt
Start from the App
- Open Teleprompt in the App.
- Select the script you want to use.
- Tap Start to begin.
Start from the glasses Menu
- Open Menu on the glasses.
- Swipe to Teleprompt, then single-tap the TouchPad.
- Swipe through the script list, select a script, and single-tap again to begin.
- Because Even G2 has limited local memory, only the 20 most recently processed documents appear when you start Teleprompt from Menu. If you cannot find a document, locate it in the App and move it closer to the top of the list. It will then appear in the list on your glasses.
- Teleprompt scripts are stored locally. Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored Teleprompt scripts.
Select a prompting mode
Teleprompt offers three prompting modes. Open Settings from the script page and select the mode that best suits your situation.
AI Mode
- AI Mode recognizes the content as the wearer reads aloud and automatically scrolls the script to follow their progress. Text that has already been read turns gray, making it easier to track your position.
- While Teleprompt is running, you can swipe on the TouchPad to adjust the script position manually. AI will continue following from the new position.
- The languages supported by Teleprompt AI Mode depend on your phone’s operating system and whether it is connected to the internet. See languages supported by Teleprompt AI Mode.
Auto Mode
- Auto Mode scrolls the script automatically at a fixed speed. Select a speed in the settings that matches your speaking pace.
- While Teleprompt is running, you can swipe on the TouchPad to adjust the script position. Automatic scrolling will continue from the new position.
Manual Mode
- In Manual Mode, the script does not scroll automatically. Swipe on the TouchPad or press the phone's volume buttons to move through the script.
- To use the phone's volume buttons, first turn on Third-party remote control in Teleprompt settings.
Pause or end Teleprompt
- Single-tap the TouchPad on the glasses or R1 to pause or resume.
- Double-tap the TouchPad to open the exit prompt, then confirm that you want to end Teleprompt.
Customize the prompting area
After updating both the Even Realities App and G2 firmware to version 2.2.6 or later, you can adjust the display height and prompting area width from the script's Preview page.
- Open a script from the Teleprompt script list in the Even Realities App.
-
On the Preview page, adjust the following:
- Display height: Drag the bar at the bottom of the script preview up or down to adjust the number of text lines displayed on the glasses. You can select between five and nine lines.
- Prompting area width: Drag the width slider below the preview to adjust how wide the text appears on the glasses.
Your adjustments appear in the script preview in the App and are applied when Teleprompt starts on the glasses. The selected display height is retained the next time you open Teleprompt.
Set a countdown and resume position
- Countdown: Choose whether Teleprompt starts immediately after you tap Start or after a 5-second or 10-second countdown.
- Auto-resume to last position: When enabled, Teleprompt resumes from where you stopped the next time you use the same script. When disabled, it starts from the beginning. The reading position is saved separately for each script.
Use an external Bluetooth controller
Teleprompt supports external Bluetooth controllers that can control your phone's volume.
Before using a controller:
- Connect the Bluetooth controller to your phone.
- Open Teleprompt in the Even Realities App.
- Tap the settings icon in the upper-right corner.
- Turn on Third-party remote control.
- Press the volume-down button to scroll down.
- Press the volume-up button to scroll up.
If the controller can adjust your phone's volume after connecting, it can generally be used to control Teleprompt. External controllers can adjust only the script position. They cannot start, pause, or end Teleprompt.
You do not need to turn on Third-party remote control when using R1 to control Teleprompt.
