Rainbow-like reflections can sometimes appear on the eye side of the lenses. They come from the grating area of the waveguide, which is an essential part of the optical structure used to display images. Under certain lighting conditions, including direct sunlight and indoor lighting, the grating may reflect different colors depending on the viewing angle.
The reflections may look different on the left and right lenses. This does not necessarily indicate a difference or defect between the two waveguides. Ambient light can enter and reflect from each lens at different angles, making the rainbow effect appear more noticeable on one side than the other.
If the displayed content is clear and there is no ghosting, double image, or other viewing abnormality while you are wearing the glasses, the rainbow reflection is a normal optical characteristic of the waveguide display and does not affect normal operation.
If you notice a viewing abnormality or are concerned about a noticeable difference between the two lenses, you can place a piece of white paper behind the lenses, as shown in the reference image, and photograph both grating areas under the same lighting conditions.
